I assume this was made by a child but don't know for sure

It would look fantastic at the center of a mid-century table or sideboard

perhaps because this man looks like such a happy and friendly sort

exquisitely made and very special feeling

Hand-painted Portrait Snuff Box scribble but the columned front entryI love the history of gestures and body language as a vocabulary, and while much is lost on me, I've certainly seen many a pretty young woman portrayed with this raised hand gesture which, together with her deep blush and the bright yellow bow just below her corseted waist, signals both modesty and beckoning at the same time.
