Late 19th Century German Lacquered Checkers in Original Box black box 11 1/2" wide x 8

11 1/2" wide x 8 3/4" tall x 9" deep

as there is a hole that runs through the handle near the end through which a string or wire could pass

There appears to be the tiniest of tiny chips on the inside of the delicate lip (see detail photo)--very minor

The wooden frame is not brand new but not very old

as they need just a little support to stay in place

Late 19th Century German Lacquered Checkers in Original Box black box 11 1/2" wide x 8A super handsome set of antique checkers in their original slide top box, on the underside of which with their one time owner wrote "1897" and "30 pieces." The embossed checkers, with crowns on one side and concentric rings on the other, are enameled in lush red and black, with a couple of the red ones bordering on orange.
