I believe they date to the 1780s or so and are likely Belgian

The little street sign to behind it to the right reads Bar Le Duc

4" deep including attached screws

but since a recent discovery of an ancient Roman glass bottle I’ve started paying a little attention

Double-Sided Naive Graphite & Crayon Drawing: Girl and Deer, Flowers bird woman and almost certainly mid-centuryThis is one of a handful of drawings I'm listing by the same (surely quite young) maker, found together in an old notebook already partially disassembled so I went ahead and separated them all. I'd guess 1860s or 70s or so, and all quite wonderful, with the people and animals especially soulful this girl and deer a perfect case in point! but the flowers on reverse really quite full of life too! Crayon was used fairly sparingly in these, making the
