but I have developed quite a fondness for old paintings of them

from spring daffodils to fall mums

I really love the five brown ones with tented roofs lined up in a row, feeling perhaps like workers' housing, and then these three colorful apartment buildings which feel a bit like a miniature stage set around which some drama is soon to unfold.
