Gorgeous Signed Studio Pottery Large Gourd Shaped Weed Pot paper holder In 1935 Ballantine used anFound in Maine, and I believe by a Maine based ceramicist, as I have come across one equally striking vase in Maine by I am sure the same artist (which was snapped up by Ryan Wagner of Newlyn Lowly.) To my eye just a stunner of a piece and a wonderful play on the form of a weedpot, with tiny opening in the stem at top. Clearly meant to represent a gourd, I'd display it next to a bowl of carefully chosen stone fruit! Fantastic surface, gorgeous color,
